Postdoc UMI

Octavio Garcia was born in San Pedro Coahuila, Mexico, in November 1977. He obtained the bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in July 2000 and the master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in February 2003 from the Instituto Tecnológico de La Laguna, Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. His Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control was from The Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France, in November 2009. Since January 2010, he holds a post as a postdoctoral research fellow in The Laboratoire Franco-Mexicain d’Informatique et Automatique (LAFMIA UMI CNRS 3175-CINVESTAV), in Mexico City. His research interests are in design, modeling and control of mini UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles), non-linear and linear control theory with applications in robotics and mechanical systems, multisensory data fusion, and real-time control applications (Electronic Instrumentation, Microcontrollers and Motor Control).

Currently, he works with the C-Plane UAV, the helicopter with four rotors, and the Mini-Coaxial Rocket UAV.
